More on The Worst Website Evah ....

Here's my latest experience with the Massachusetts' COVID-19 vaccine website, also known as The Worst Website Evah!
So, just for the heck of it ---- maybe I'm a masochist ---- I went on the state's website after 5 p.m. today (Monday, March 1), and saw some availabilities at the Gillette Stadium site in the coming days, so I clicked on register and then fell into the abyss:
The wait time rapidly changed, in minutes, from: 9 to 18, to 9.864, to 12, to 29, to 34, 35, 37. Then I got a message saying the wait time was "greater than a day." Then it said the wait time was 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10, 13 and "greater than a day."
That's when I got off. The wait times clearly do not mean anything.
I understand that the shots are in limited supply but the state's website is a total mess and not at all user friendly ---- no matter what King Charlie thinks!

With Truck Day looming, Red Sox outlook bleak

Truck Day --- when the Boston Red Sox equipment van leaves Fenway Park for the annual mid-winter trip to Jet Blue Park in Fort Myers, Fla., for spring training --- is Friday, Feb. 3 and pitchers and catchers will report shortly after, with their first workout on Wednesday, Feb. 15. Normally, that’s exciting news for fans who have been freezing all winter long, but this year, that will be no cause for celebration due to all of the question marks on the Red Sox roster. The truth is that even the 10-year extension of third baseman Rafael Devers for $331-plus million didn’t improve the 2023 club. The signing only kept someone the Sox couldn’t afford to lose. Let's face it: We're all suffering from COVID-19 fatigue, and as the fall arrives, predictions and expectations that we're in it for the long haul --- possibly well into 2021 --- make us feel even more depressed and uneasy, Many of our psyches have been scarred and our nerves frayed by the endless worries and concerns about this novel coronavirus pandemic.  With that in mind, I thought it'd be instructive to take a look at how long this journey has been by sharing some of the columns that I wrote on the pandemic, starting in March, with the implementation of the lockdown.
